All Host ‘SYTYCD’ Eats in a Day

After a hiatus of nearly three years, So you think you can dance is back tonight for its 17th season.

Everyone is excited to meet the new judges, which include JoJo Siwa, Stephen “tWitch” Boss and Matthew Morrison. Fans are also looking forward to seeing longtime host Cat Deeley return to the stage. The cat hosted So you think you can dance since its second season and is just as thrilled to be back.

And while you’re guaranteed to see her on the show, she also works off-camera as the mother of two boys and the founder of her own unisex fragrance oil line, E11even.

As she juggles so many jobs, she prioritizes food to stay energized. The cat sat down with women’s health ahead of tonight’s premiere to share exactly what she eats in a day.

To eat lunch

“My mornings start very early because I have a six- and four-year-old,” Cat explains. She used to start her day with a cup of warm lemon water, but her dentist told her it would damage her tooth enamel if she kept drinking it. “Now I have green juice. I have celery and cucumber, and a little lemon juice and ginger,” she says.

Still, Cat needs her morning coffee to get to the heart of the matter. “Sometimes I feel like I need my cup of coffee to get my eyes open and move,” she says.

To eat lunch

Because she’s always on the go, Cat often searches for something she can grab and take with her. For lunch she will have something light like tea with cheese biscuits. Other days, she eats crackers or a salad.

“The easiest thing for me is to just take the fruit platter and run down the sidewalk, and I can eat it while I’m driving the car, or I can eat it while I’m moving forward,” Cat explains.

To taste

According to Cat, she was never the biggest nibbler. Because her mother always had snacks on hand for her as a child, she never felt like they were off limits.

“She never made things ‘bad’ or made things unobtainable or, you know, we were free to help each other whenever we wanted,” Cat explains. “I think by doing this you kind of learn what makes you feel good about your body and what makes you feel healthy. I really like listening to my body.”

Now her favorite snacks are a piece of fruit, like a banana or a handful of almonds. When she wants something tastier, she takes crackers and cheese.

Having dinner

For Cat, dinner is the main meal.

“I always sit down for dinner at five with my boys…it’s always something pretty healthy. We try not to eat too much meat really,” she says. She is a big fan of mussels in a white wine and garlic cream sauce served with fries and a salad.

Cat is used to eating dinner early in the day, but she never realized she was technically doing intermittent fasting out of habit.

“I’m doing intermittent fasting, which I didn’t realize. But it seems to be working really well for my body, I think I’m sleeping better…I actually feel so much better too than eating a meal. later in the day at half past eight or nine or whatever,” says Cat.

Dessert

Cat doesn’t like dessert very much, but she loves a good glass of wine.

“I would always prefer to have a cheese plate, but I like a glass of wine…I have to really craving a dessert to order one at the restaurant or to have one at home,” she says.

She also enjoys a cold “super dry” glass of champagne. “I don’t know if part of that is the actual ceremony you know…when the cork pops, then it’s like a real celebration.”
