Fall dishes hit Dallas restaurants in all their pumpkin and spice glory


With the first day of fall under our belt and with temperatures plummeting in Dallas in the mid-1950s, it’s not too early to start talking about fall dishes: pumpkin cupcakes and pecan pancakes. and everything related to cinnamon and cloves.

If you’re in the mood for a taste of fall, we’ve put together a list:

Bellagreen Fall Seasonal Menu
The fast-casual chain features new comfort foods featuring fall fruits and vegetables, including butternut squash and pesto soup with butternut squash, potatoes, orange, pesto, pumpkin seeds and microgreens. Harvest Salad contains butternut squash, beets, quinoa, greens and a fig vinaigrette. Fall Paleo Salmon Tacos have butternut squash and cabbage on almond flour tortillas. The Pumpkin Caramel Cheesecake has a gluten free coconut, hemp seed and almond flour crust, pumpkin cheesecake and caramel sauce.

Bonefish Grill autumn dishes
New seasonal dishes include swordfish and pumpkin ravioli with crispy onions and crumbled feta; pair it with an apple martini made with apples infused for three days in vodka, finished with honey. Decadent Pumpkin Lava Cake features cinnamon and nutmeg with a melted cream cheese center, served hot, topped with homemade whipped cream.

Denny’s Fall Menu
National chain is bringing back Pumpkin-Pecan Pancake Breakfast with Pumpkin Pancakes made with real pumpkin and pecans, with pecan pie sauce; served with eggs, hash browns and bacon or sausage. Double Chocolate Pancake Puppies are large balls served with cream cheese frosting. The Pecan Panookie is a warm chocolate chip cookie filled with melted chocolate and vanilla ice cream and topped with pecan pie sauce.

Kate Weiser’s Halloween Delights
The Dallas Chocolate Factory offers Halloween-themed delicacies, available at the Trinity Groves store, Central Market, Neiman Marcus, and online. Chocolate Pumpkin is made from dark chocolate and contains malt balls, cherries, caramel chunks, chocolate coated orange peels and chewy salted caramel balls; you open to eat. Chocolate Skulls come in dark chocolate, filled with mini peanut butter cups, M & Ms, and candy corn; or white chocolate, filled with crushed Oreos. The Butterfinger collection looks like real fingers. A pack of five includes almonds, peanut butter, pistachios, hazelnuts and pecans. (Available October 1.) Six-Piece Eyeball Collection features candy eyeballs in three colors: pumpkin pie ganache hazelnut in a white chocolate shell; the blue has peanut butter gianduja in a dark chocolate shell; the green has a caramelized pink apple ganache in a dark chocolate shell. Pumpkin Pie Candy Bar features caramelized pumpkin pie ganache with cinnamon marshmallow and pecan ginger streusel in a dark chocolate shell.

McCormick Day of the Dead Craft Kits
The Spice Company will be posting a limited number of free Mexican Hot Chocolate Making Kits at McCormick.com/DayoftheDead starting September 28 at 11 p.m. ET. Kits contain ingredients for making Mexican hot chocolate, including Mexican chocolate discs, McCormick ground cinnamon, chipotle pepper, and vanilla extract; a wooden molinillo for whipping hot chocolate; and a clay mug that can be decorated with colorful heritage-inspired designs using the included paint markers. A pack of freshly pulled Peeps Marshmallow Skulls can be used to make a Sugar Skull Shaker.

Fall Specials Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille
Menu items available to dine in or take out include White Bean Pork Chili with Poblano Peppers, Hatched Green Peppers, Garlic, and Pork Chops; Mashed butternut squash with bacon and maple syrup; and pumpkin cheesecake with pecan and ginger crust, vanilla cream and a drizzle of salted caramel.

The Cupcake chain has a spice cake filled with marshmallow and topped with Cuban coffee frosting. Available until October 3.

Pumpkin Cupcake
The Cupcake chain’s favorite seasonal flavor combines spice cake with cinnamon cream cheese frosting. Available until November 28.

Open Mkt Pumpkin Caramel Cheesecake Latte
This is not your typical pumpkin latte. It contains pumpkin spice, cheesecake syrup, whipped cream, graham crackers and of course coffee. Open Mkt. Grab ‘n Go is located in the lobby of the Sheraton Dallas hotel and offers salads, pizza, baked goods, coffee, wine, beer, and other beverages.

Tommy Bahama Restaurant & Bar seasonal cocktails
Legacy West’s restaurant in Plano takes a long-term view with seasonal cocktails running through 2021, including the Huladays cocktail with rum, cranberry and ginger syrup, lemon juice and prosecco; Coconut Eggnog Martini with bourbon, coconut rum, coconut milk with coconut milk and nutmeg; Figgy Five Spice with rye whiskey, five spice fig syrup, Meyer lemon juice and Chinese five spice powder; and Peppermint Bark Martini with vodka, white chocolate and cream liqueur; the rim of the martini glass is rolled in melted chocolate ganache and crushed mints.
