Keto-Friendly Cereal Recipe to Start Your Day From “Dirty, Lazy Keto” – CBS San Francisco
If you’re on a keto diet, chances are one of the things you miss the most is a simple bowl of cereal. Yes, cereals! For nearly 10 years, the founder of DIRTY, LAZY, KETO, Stephanie Laska, craved a real bowl of cereal, both the sugar-laden favorites of childhood and the so-called adult cereals, which are usually to be eaten. grain based and super high in carbs – and therefore completely off limits when on a low carb keto diet.
Stephanie didn’t want a simple bowl of cereal to derail her diet, so she set out to come up with a recipe for a healthy, nutritious, and most importantly low-carb breakfast cereal that wouldn’t get her out of ketosis. After much trial and error, she created a recipe that only has 1 net carb per serving, has only 5 ingredients, and takes just 15 minutes to prepare. With hemp seeds, sunflower seeds, grated coconut, sugar-free maple flavored syrup and coconut oil, Stephanie’s recipe for “Just a Bowl of Cereal” is one of 100 low carb, great flavor recipes from his new book The DIRTY, LAZY, KETO 5-Ingredient Cookbook.

Just a bowl of cereal recipe
Out of the hundred recipes that I share The 5 Ingredient DIRTY, LAZY, KETO Cookbook, this one turns me on the most: Just a bowl of cereal. It’s true, guys. I said CEREALS! Until recently, I hadn’t eaten a real bowl of cereal for almost a decade. On sleepy Sunday mornings, cereal is something I miss sometimes. I refuse to spend an arm and a leg on overpriced “keto” cereal on the internet (which I’ve heard is terrible anyway). It might have taken me years to find an alternative, but I finally found a delicious DLK substitute. You’re welcome, ‘Merica!

- 1 tablespoon unsweetened grated coconut

- 2 tablespoons of shelled sunflower seeds, roasted and salted
- 1 tablespoon of coconut oil, melted
- Preheat the oven to 400 ° F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, whisk all the ingredients together.
- Spread the mixture evenly in a very thin layer on the prepared baking sheet, then bake, 8 to 10 minutes, until the cereal hardens and turns golden.
- Let cool. Crumble and serve immediately in a small bowl topped with any unsweetened alternative milk of your choice.

Enjoy with a cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk (1g net carbs per 1 cup serving). The Silk brand is one of my favorites, but any low-carb alternative milk will do. Just make sure it’s cold!
