Preparations to Meet Your God | The Guardian Nigeria News
Text: Amos 4:12
As Kingdom Power Christian Praying Center prepares for its annual October program, labeled 21 Day Fast and Prayer, it is the responsibility of every church member to prepare themselves spiritually for the exercise. The program will help the church and individual church members maintain the victories the Lord has given during the time of intense spiritual warfare.
Maintaining victory after battle is more difficult than gaining victory. Therefore, it is important to consolidate victory through fasting and prayer. Obviously, the victories the church has won in the spirit realm are not by meritocracy; rather, it is by the grace and mercy of God. Ordinarily, our day as a church would have disqualified us from this glorious victory, were it not for the mercy of God. Fasting and prayer are not enough to sustain victory; a holy lifestyle keeps victory alive. A wise believer always strives to live righteously in order to stay and enjoy his victory.
Spiritual and physical preparations are very important for this upcoming program. Spiritual preparations begin at the threshold of salvation. There must be an encounter with Jesus Christ, which brings about liberation from sin before embarking on this journey of fasting and prayer. The experience of salvation must be constant and current. There must be certainty that those who will appear before God for this program must have their names written in the book of life to avoid obstacles to prayer.
Few deception, lies and lies disqualify someone from participating in a unique program of this magnitude. This is because the exercise is spiritual. There must also be abnegation and absolute submission to God. Worldly attractions and fantasies which may not be sinful, but unsuitable, should be avoided in their entirety, in order to spend quality time with the Lord. In our pursuit of God during this program, there must be a total abandonment of the world and its attractiveness. We must also all deposit at the altar in full commitment and submission to the Lord.
This period of total dedication tests our true love for God by revealing who is coming to the fore at such a critical time as this. Certainly, all other lay appointments will be affected to honor this calling from God. Civil servants and business leaders will pay a certain price to be present throughout this period. It may sound difficult, but it is a mark of obedience to Almighty God. In addition, you have to be in the right frame of mind during this period. Long notice had previously been given to allow everyone to prepare adequately and obtain the necessary permits in the workplace.
As Christians, we cannot fulfill our heavenly mandate if we do not regularly await the Lord in order to attract divine help to navigate the journey and accomplish our ministries. If we are to stand up boldly to challenge the righteousness that reigns supreme in many assemblies, we must wait on the Lord in fasting and prayer. If we are to break down the power of darkness and induct righteousness on earth, we must wait on the Lord. If we are to restore the broken walls, we must, as a priority, linger in the hall of fasting and prayer. The Devil does not respect grammar, but the power of fasting and prayer. It is the only weapon that humiliates the devil. Sadly, it is one of the greatest weapons that the Church of Christ has overlooked.
Fasting and prayer are sacred exercises that require total attention and dedication. There is a standard of fasting and prayer that Heaven recommends to believers. Now is the time to let go of the hustle and bustle of society for sincere fasting and prayer. Now is the time to stand out. This is not a time to demand all work. Hypocritical fasting and prayer, where people go about their business and gather together in the evening to pray, is not the acceptable fasting and prayer that God approves.
Make yourself available as the program begins on October 1, 2021 for a great harvest of God’s blessings.
