It’s a universally recognized truth – if it’s summer in India, we are forced to seek out all kinds of recipes that might satisfy our mango cravings. In chutneys, in kulfis, in milkshakes, in cakes – mangoes can be used just about anywhere. Also known as the “king of fruits”, mangoes are available throughout the year in a variety of forms. It takes a real mango lover to distinguish one variety from another. Fortunately, for this paleo mango ice cream, you can use just about any variety of mango available around you.

For the unspent, “paleo foods” include a range of lean meats, fish, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds that were once available to all hunters and gatherers. The paleo diet excludes all foods made available to mankind after the introduction of agriculture. Milk is also prohibited in the paleo diet. Needless to say, the diet encourages you to eat like our ancestors, also excludes processed foods. The paleo diet has become one of the most popular diets of the past decade. To make this ice cream, you need to mix the bananas until they become creamy. If the consistency is not smooth enough, you mix again. Having frozen bananas may be more helpful in making this ice cream. After mixing the bananas, you are supposed to chop your chilled mangoes and mix them with the bananas until you have a fine paste. Pour the dough into a dish, stir a few chopped almonds and dig into it. That’s right, blended bananas act as a dairy substitute and who needs the sugar when you have sweet mangoes, right? This ice cream does not even require freezing. Serve chilled, immediately.
